One World Media Seeks applications from film makers
Early to mid-career filmmakers and journalists from the global south, with creative and engaging non-fiction stories about the global south can apply for this One World Media fellowship.
Selected fellows receive a £1,000 production grant, one-to-one mentoring and a year-round programme of industry workshops and webinars, while they produce a non-fiction piece of media.
The Fellowship is aimed at aspiring journalists and filmmakers from the global south working in film, print, audio, photography or multimedia.

The American Geophysical Union seeks nominations for the science journalism awards. The science journalism awards recognise stories that increase understanding and awareness of the Earth and space sciences.

The Caine Prize for African Writing seeks fictional short stories
The 2024 edition of the AKO Caine Prize for African Writing invites fictional short stories. The prize aims to bring African writing to a wider audience, and only fictional short stories are eligible for the Prize.
For 2024 eligibility, the judges will only consider work published between April 1, 2019 and March 25, 2024.

Dag Hammarskjold Fund for Journalist
The Dag Hammarskjöld Fund for Journalists invites print, television, radio or internet journalists to apply for its 2024 fellowship programme.
Journalists who apply and are selected will be able to cover deliberations of the 79th United Nations General Assembly for approximately 10 weeks.

Bourses Mongabay pour le journalisme environnemental [Afrique]:les journalistes résidant au Bénin, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Mali, Niger ou Togo, et nourrissant l’aspiration de se lancer dans une carrière en journalisme environnemental, sont invités à soumettre leur candidature.Mongabay Afrique lance son programme francophone de bourses pour le journalisme environnemental sur le continent africain. Un cursus qui permet aux aspirants journalistes résidant dans les lieux-clés de la biodiversité, de réaliser des reportages sur des questions environnementales cruciales.
Le programme soutient jusqu’à 12 lauréats par an. Chaque cohorte sera composée de six boursiers de divers pays.

Programme de journalisme économique à CUNY [Monde]: Les journalistes ayant au moins cinq ans d’expérience peuvent postuler pour un programme d’accompagnement à distance. Le McGraw Center for Business Journalism de la Craig Newmark School of Journalism à la City University of New York propose un programme de bourses pour soutenir la couverture approfondie des affaires et de l’économie mondiale. La bourse offre un soutien éditorial et financier aux journalistes qui ont besoin de temps et de ressources pour s’attaquer à des sujets complexes et chronophages. Le programme accepte les candidatures pour des articles approfondis en texte, vidéo ou audio. Les lauréats recevront des subventions pouvant aller jusqu’à 15 000 dollars US pour réaliser des enquêtes et des reportages d’envergure.

IPI accueille le Congrès mondial des journalistes [Monde]:Les journalistes du monde entier peuvent participer à un événement sur l’innovation dans les médias à Sarajevo.
L’Institut international de la presse (IIP) organise le congrès mondial 2024 et le festival de l’innovation dans les médias sur le thème “Naviguer dans les crises : Le journalisme à un tournant”. Il s’agit d’un événement conçu pour rassembler les journalistes afin d’explorer de nouvelles solutions, de favoriser la compréhension et d’examiner d’un œil critique le rôle des médias dans la gestion des grandes crises de notre époque.
